Spring Fishing
Right now we are catching good mixed bag of redfish , spanish mackerel , trout ,bluefish and others fishing in St. Andrews Bay using light tackle and live shrimp . Casting or trolling with jigs and spoons has also been productive for spanish mackerel and bluefish . These fish can usually be caught within a short 10 or 15 minute boat ride . Offshore we are catching grouper and amberjack fishing on wrecks and natural bottom using live bait such as pinfish grunts and squirrel fish . By early May large schools of cigar minnows will come inshore bringing with them king mackerel ready to hit a free lined or trolled live bait . Those of you wanting a really big critter might try shark fishing in early summer , May and June can be some of our best shark fishing .
